As the Manager of Social Media for Mustang News, I was responsible for overseeing a team of three social media editors and three interns. The core function of our team was to tell the news, arts and sports stories in social media-native ways. Our team was consistently responsible for the bulk of page views and contributed heavily to the overall revenue of the organization. Our social media audience consisted of Mustang News’ largest audience of any other platform, so constantly managing that community was essential to our success. We were awarded “Best Social Media Strategy,” “Best Social Media Main Page” and “Best Social Media Presence” by the College Media Association, meaning we were recognized as the superior social media team among college media in the country.
